“And then of course, there is Melody Mangler. Easily distinguishable by the serpent tattoo that wraps around the left side of her midsection and thigh, her boisterous facial expressions, edgy getups, and seductive movements demand attention since she is just having so much fun. In short, Melody Mangler is a force of titillating exuberance to be reckoned with by any healthy libido and good sense of humour.”

“She may not strike you as a the type to go out in little more than her knickers and bra, but when Voodoo Pixie hits the stage the pint-sized dynamo wears just that. The burlesque stage, that is. The once popular performance art has been seeing a resurgence in the last few years, and Vancouver is in the forefront.”

Welcome to my new website. We will be working on it at adding content over the next few weeks so stay tuned.
I had the most amazing time of my life at the Burlesque Hall of Fame Weekend in Las Vegas. It was my first time attending (after years of wanting to go) and I was incredibly fortunate to win ‘Best Debut’ – the first BHOF award ever won by a Canadian (followed shortly after by Roxi D’Lite winning the second – 1st runner-up for ‘Reigning Queen of Burlesque’.
My win was covered by the Vancouver Sun and Calgary Herald:
Denise Ryan/Vancouver Sun – June 27, 2009
And I was mentioned in Burlesque Beat and The Tiny Bugle
I also appeared in this fantastic video featuring Paula the Swedish Housewife, Dixie Evans and The World Famous *BOB*:
I also appear briefly in this teaser video:
There was also a segment on the Travel Channel’s Extreme Competitions program but I can’t find it anywhere… If you know of it up anywhere please let me know.
“Soon to turn 26, Mangler has been making her name on the burlesque scene for the last four years, teaching classes and performing with the Screaming Chickens, a not-for-profit society based in Vancouver that celebrates, advocates and educates about burlesque.”
